Community Classes and Workshops
Living Rhythms classes are the place to “let go” and embody the healing power of somatic movement, dance, mindfulness, and creative self-expression. Every class offers something different and exciting. Our unique and creative teaching styles will have you moving, dancing, talking, singing, humming, laughing, bouncing, swaying, and expressing yourself in fun, new ways. Our classes often combine somatic dance & movement with other dance forms, such as hula, belly dance, jazz, ballroom, and joyful dance. You’ll always experience something new – and a fresh, invigorating way to express yourself.
We also incorporate other practices and expressive arts, including mindfulness, meditation, percussion, breathwork, stretching, and healing sounds. Special classes are offered at various times during the year. All of our classes are gentle and easily adaptable for everyone.

What is Somatic Dance?
Somatic means “in the body.” Most of us spend so much time “in our heads” that we forget about our bodies and what’s happening on the inside. Our bodies hold energy, memories, traumas, grief, tightness, and injuries that can get stuck, resulting in things like anxiety, insomnia, negativity, stress, pain, illness, irritability, depression, fatigue, and a diminished sense of well-being.
Somatic dance and movements gently support the body in releasing anything that no longer needs to be “within.” Through freeform and guided moves, along with a great selection of music, our somatic classes help increase fitness and mobility, ease tension, and foster creative self-expression while promoting emotional release and healing.


Somatic dancers also report greater self-esteem, confidence, and a deeper gratitude for their bodies. Movements are easy to do, so whether you’re an experienced dancer or someone who’s never danced before, you’ll be a star in any of our classes! All movements are completely adaptable, so everyone can enjoy them. Somatic dance allows the body’s own intuition to move however it wants and needs, without the constrictions of detailed choreography. Allowing the body the opportunity to communicate and be heard opens the door to healing, self-love, self-compassion, and serenity.
While somatic dance is therapeutic, it is not clinical therapy. It’s an expressive art form that offers many health and wellness benefits that are documented in the scholarly and medical literature.

Somatic Rhythms®
Somatic Dance & Movement Class | 60 minutes | weekly
Our signature Somatic Rhythms® classes encourage freeing, expansive dance movements that promote deep mind-body awareness, authentic physical expression, and a sense of joy and relaxation. In somatic dance, the focus is on what’s happening inside – in the body – rather than on performance and specific steps. Somatic dance & movements promote healing, restoration, and well-being. They have also been shown to reduce pain, anxiety, and stress – and to improve mood, sleep, flexibility, vitality, and fitness. The movements are enjoyable and, best of all, they feel wonderful! Somatic Rhythms® is the perfect gift of self-care.
Breath to the Beat®
Percussion, Breath & Movement Class | 60 minutes | weekly
Everything in life – including the human body – is in a constant state of vibration. Raising the body’s internal vibrational frequency can improve health, mental outlook, energy, muscle strength, and overall well-being. In this dynamic, expressive class, we play – and dance to – a variety of percussion instruments, from bongo drums and tambourines to Polynesian uli’ulis, finger cymbals, Middle Eastern doumbeks, and shakers. Each instrument creates its own unique vibration and sound, which creates healing for the body and mind.
Faithful Rhythms®
Praise and Worship Dance Service | 60 minutes | first Sunday of every month
This pastor-facilitated class begins with prayer and a relevant, teaching Bible message. After, we enjoy uplifting contemporary Christian music and praise/worship dance. Come enjoy an inspirational word – and a beautiful, creative way to express your faith.

Beginning Ballroom Dance & Dancer Technique
Group classes | 60 minutes | weekly
Private lessons | 60 minutes | by appointment
For beginning ballroom dancers (competitive and social), we provide training in American ballroom technique (Smooth and Rhythm). Proper technique – and understanding the “physics” of dance movement are the keys to great, confident, and polished dancing. We also offer somatic and mindfulness coaching to help competitive dancers maintain relaxation, focus, and peak performance before and during competitions. No partner needed.
